If you love specialty coffee, fresh baked doughnuts, shopping for clothes, and browsing for cottage essentials we have just the place for you this summer.
Think about how awesome it would be to work at Jack & Stella with a beautiful view of Lake Muskoka and at the same time doing something fun while getting to know a great group of young people that we call "our Crew".
We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to build our team and have a variety of full-time and part-time seasonal positions available.
About us
Jack & Stella is located in the heart of Bala, on Lake Muskoka. Our building is painted white, resembling an old general store; you can’t miss it! We have a big front porch where our guests enjoy their morning coffee or smoothie.
Jack & Stella is a “prime” destination and we expect thousands of people will visit our establishment this season.
We are all about creating amazing experiences that our guests won’t forget. We accomplish this by offering a wide variety of things to do, giving plenty of reasons for them to visit us again and again.

A day in the life

Our guests meet up first thing in the morning for a specialty coffee and breakfast sandwich. They are visiting from the city and have been looking forward to getting together at Jack & Stella for weeks. They are greeted with a smile by each of our amazing Crew members and engage in a friendly conversation as they place their order. While waiting for their beverages, they browse our store that is filled to the brim with cottage essentials and décor items. They put a few things aside, as they proceed to their favourite spot on the dock.
Sitting by the lake, they scan Jack & Stella’s “Summer Fun Schedule”, which showcases the upcoming summer events. Something peaks our guest’s interest, so they reserve a spot on Eventbrite to make sure they don’t miss out. They realize that time is ticking, and they had better get back to the cottage...but not before they pick up those items they had set aside. Meeting in the laneway, they stop in Stella’s Closet and shop our apparel and accessories. On their way out, they grab a dozen li’l doughnuts made hot and ready-to-serve from Georgie’s Shack, and then off they go back to the cottage – a jam-packed and memorable morning.

We are looking for fun and energetic staff to build our Team, with a variety of positions available. Whether you are making coffees, helping pick out the perfect outfit, creating a new smoothie recipe, or serving a signature cocktail - everyone owns their craft. Together we create an unforgettable Muskoka experience.

The hiring process
Jack & Stella is broken into two programs and our shifts are based around these two time periods.
The Day Program focuses on the Café, Goods, Stella’s Closet, Georgie’s Shack and day-time events. This program opens at 8:00 a.m. and wraps up at 4:00 p.m. The Evening Program focuses on Stella's Lounge and the evening events. This program opens at 5:00 p.m. and wraps up at 9:00 p.m.
We understand that some Crew Members may want to work a combination of daytime and evening shifts throughout the week. If this is the case you can apply for two positions.
How It Works:
Once you apply for a job you will be asked a series of questions. Please note in the Comments section your desire to work both programs. Then once you are in the application process, we will further discuss your shift preferences.
